Alpe Adria Cup is back

The Alpe Adria Cup goes into it’s fourth season. After starting 2015 with eight teams from four countries, this years edition will be played with 16 clubs from seven nations. The newest member state of the international basketball competition is Poland and it’s club GTK Gliwice.

There are several more new participants: Zalakeramia ZTE from Hungary, KK Skrljevo from Croatia, KD Hopsi Polzela from Slovenia and Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions. It’s a comeback or the founding member from Austria, as they took a break from AAC last season.

The official drawing of the regular season groups took place during the kick-off meeting for the upcoming season in Vienna today. The four groups are:

Group A: UBSC Raiffeisen Graz, BK Armex Decin, BK Patrioti Levice, Egis Körmend
Group B: Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions, USK Praha, KK Vrijedosnice Osijek, KD Hopsi Polzela
Group C: BK Klosterneuburg Dukes, mmcite Brno, KK Skrljevo, Zalakeramia ZTE
Group D: BC Hallmann Vienna, BK Sluneta Usti nad labem, GTK Gliwice, KK Sencur

The regular season will start on September 25th, when Traiskirchen Lions hosts KD Hopsi Polzela. The full schedule will be released soon.
