Presenting the Final Four participants, Olomoucko comes with a goal to win it all

The Final Four of the Alpe Adria Cup women is already in the books and in a few hours the eighth edition of the men’s competition will conclude. Before the start of the event, there will be the introduction of the participants, who will take part on 12 and 13 March in Kapfenberg. To begin, we bring you an interview with coach of Olomoucko Andrew Jay Hipsher. The Czech team comes to the Final Four with a clear goal – to win it all.

– You are part of the Final Four of the Alpe Adria Cup. How do you feel about the fact that you managed to get through the group stage?

“We feel great and, at the same time, honored about advancing to the Final Four. Any time you have an 11-team international competition and you can be one of the Final Four left to compete for a championship, that is an honor. We played 10 competitive matches against quality teams and now look forward to competing for a championship.”

– How do you evaluate your performance in the Alpe Adria Cup so far?

“I think we have been pretty consistent in regards to our performance. We were able to absorb some injuries to key players and still win a few games, which says a lot about the resiliency of our players.”

– In what way and how does this international confrontation help you, for example, towards domestic competitions?

“I think it helps a lot. It allows us to compete in different venues and experience different things that we can refer back to help maximize our potential in our domestic league.”

– With what ambitions and goals are you going to the Final Four?

“We are going to try to win a championship. We talk about how everyone plays, but not everyone plays to win. We are going to try to play to win in Kapfenberg.”

– What can you already say about your semi-final opponent?

“We understand we will face the defending champions in the semi-final, and we have a high level of respect for them. They are a complete team in regard to depth of skill and shooting, so we will need to play one of our better games of the year. “

– From your point of view, what determines success at such events?

“What will determine success for us at this event will be the same as it is every time we step on the court. We strive to play hard, smart, and tough. If we do those three things, we will be satisfied, and we will let the chips fall where they may.”
