In the first game of the 19/20 season SLUNETA welcomes in her house the croation team KK Vrijednosnice Osijek. Fans could see a perfect beginning of their team, because SLUNETA gain a fast lead 10:4. But the guests didn´t give up and came back to the game already during the first quarter, which ended 21:19.

From that point it was a close game, where SLUNETA had couple of changes to get ahead with a bigger point diference, but Vrijednosnice were able to comeback everytime when SLUNETA tried skip away. So the halftime score was 43:41.

In the third quarter guests had to change something, they tried the zone defence what caused us little problems in our offence. On the other side we started to have problems with the opponent´s pick-and-roll game and suddenly Osijek was ahead with 8 points.

Good luck SLUNETA has a pointguard Josh Brown, who was able to score 5 points in the road when the team needed it the most and it was a close game again. At the end SLUNETA got a few important stops, where guest couldn’t get some baskets and so the first win goes to SLUNETA.

Antonín Pištěcký, Coach of Sluneta: For us it was a tough game, we were missing one pointguard, what hat impact on the whole game. We had problems on ballscreens and in the offence by 1 on 1 and playing against the zone defence. Most important is, we managed to win the game. After a time-out we got better in agresivity, what was the key to success.”

Domagoj Kujundzic,  Coach of Osijek: “Congratulations to the opponent, we didn´t play a bad game today, we were missing one of our pivots, so we had to play in a smaller rotation and we lost power at the end and that was the main point, why we lost.”

Dalibor Fait,  of : “We didn’t perform bad today, although we made a lot of mistakes. We have two games to the road game at Děčín, so we have to work on that and be ready.”

Antonio JordanoPlayer of Osijek:  “We played bad in defence, we missed one of our big guys, we nee to work on our concentration in offence. This is the beginning of the season and we will be good.”
