Kolín played without their key player and point guard Adam Číž and it was visible on their offense throughout the game. Dubrava played from the start of the game aggressive full court defense, which together with many cheap mistakes from Kolín resulted in lots of turnovers (22 in total) and therefore many easy baskets from fastbreaks for Dubrava. Dubrava gradually seized control of the game in the second half. They were better in nearly every statistic and showcased their well-organized selfless offense, which resulted in a win for them by 16 points.

Post-game quotes:

Predrag Benáček, coach of Kolín: “Congrats to Dubrava, you were better than us today. Unfortunately, it was difficult for us because we played our second game in a row in the Alpe Adria Cup without our point guard. Overall, we have two players injured and four are playing shortly after an ilness, therefore, I have not expected anything better than this. We really did play as best as we could, unfortunately. Congratulations to Dubrava once again.”

Holden Redparth, player of Kolín: “We came out on, we played pretty hard. Obviously we fell short, but we were short started in this last minute, so you know, we just have to make some adjustments towards the game, but overall I think that we played pretty hard. We made a good effort. We had a lot of young guys coming in. We were trying to make that effort towards the win today. I think we played pretty well.”

Jeronimo Sarin, coach of Dubrava: “We had a solid first half. We managed to get aggressive and put some pressure on ourselves defensively. Eventually, we were a younger team, so in the second half, we were more fresh and managed to finish it off. I am so happy for the win.”

Stellan Rajaofera, player of Dubrava: “I think we had a good game, and we deserve to win. We tried to play hard, and finally we came to this victory. I congratulate both teams for a very good game and a very fair fight, and I wish all the best for Kolín in the future.”
