The game started offensively, Patrioti got into lead from the beginning, but Šenčur was still in the game, because they were shooting well from three point range. The first quarter was pretty equal, home players were in the lead 26:22. Nine points in a row in the beginning of second period got Levice in double digit lead. Slovenian team was struggling in the offense, after two quarters they were trailing 34:47.
After the break, Levice continued their control over the game, in 25th minute their lead jumped over 20 points. In this moment the game was decided, home players started to play easily. On the other hand, Šenčur struggled on both ends of the floor. Third quarter concluded with buzzer beater of Krajčovič, Levice were that time in 27 point lead – 74:47. Last quarter was just about cosmetic change of score. Both players gave opportunity to guys from rotation. Levice unbeaten streak raised to eight games, they won over Šenčur 101:63.
Teo Hojč, coach of Levice: “I don´ like, that the level of Slovakian league is still underestimated. Slovakian players need international confrontation. It´s tough for us, but we can do it. I´m glad, that our players showed, that they know our system and they respect it. With that we can be dangerous for every opponent. In this competition we want to still present the Slovakian league and Slovakian basketball.”
Boris Bojanovský, player of Levice: “Forty minutes we played our basketball, we did not let them do anything and we won easily. It was a good performance in defense and in offense. We were the better team.”
Rade Mijanovič, coach of Šenčur: “I want to congratulate Levice to reaching the semifinals of Alpe Adria Cup. They deserved to win. My team was not on energy level, as they are used to. We had some injuries, some guys were missing. But we are satisfied, first time we were in top 8 in this competition.”
Ivan Koljevič, player of Šenčur: “We had a long trip, but we gave everything in this match. I want to congratulate to the opponent, they were the better team in this match and they had more energy.”
