Dukes played at the beginning with a high rotation. In the first 5 minutes, the Dukes were still at eye level, after a brief period of weakness of Klosterneuburg, however, the guests from Hungary were able to increase their lead (7:14). But the Dukes managed to catch up again by one point (16:17). By the end of the first ten minutes ZTE KK was able to increase again to 20:26. After a few minutes in the second quater Szabo was sent to the dressing room after an unsportsmanlike foul, as he has recently conceded a technical foul. Klosterneuburger took advantage of this brief hectic phase and were able to take the lead for the first time (31:30). After a Three-Pointer from Hopfgartner the Dukes expanded their lead for the first time. By the end of the first half of the game, however, the guests from Hungary took back the lead to 43:44.

At the beginning of the third quarter, the hosts were able to regain the lead, but lost it in the course again. However, the dukes remained within striking distance and the game remained completely open. The decision was postponed to the final quarter, when the Hungarians played with a higher intensity and KLosterneuburg commited many turnovers. In the end ZTE KK got the 89:72-victory.

Werner Sallomon, head coach of Dukes: “We have at least partially reached our goals and could use all players today. Unfortunately, not all are as far as they should be, besides, the heavy game of Sunday is still in our bones.”

Christoph Leydolf, player of Dukes: We were defensively weak today and usually one step too late. We threw too much and finished too rarely under the basket, so we lost the game.

Tamas Bencze, head coach of ZTE KK: “We came here to win the game to have good chances for the qualification into the play-offs. First half was tight, we did not came into the game and were thinking too much about the referee decicions. In the second half we showed, what we are able to play and won the game.”
