The home team didn’t start well at all and it was trailing 2:11 after three minutes when they couldn’t stop a physically excellent opponent. In the beginning, Rados reigned supreme. After four minutes, he reached double digits in shooting, and thanks to him, Vienna led 17:2. Then the home team got up incredibly. On defense, they deprived their opponent of the ball several times, in attack, they were able to help themselves with a pass and an easy finish, and reduced the score to 22:23 after the first quarter. The Olomoucko players were able to build on the high-quality performance from the end of the first part and in the 15th minute outscored their opponent to 41:30. Captain Feštr led the offensive in important moments and his three three-pointers in the course of a few minutes. Although Vienna tried to stop the home team, Olomoucko’s players could not take the lead by halftime and spent the break with a favorable score of 49:41.

After returning to the scoreboard, the visitors from Vienna recorded the first five throws, but the team from Olomouc did not allow a collapse from the beginning of the match and quickly found the necessary recipe. In the 26th minute, Moten led 59:49, but two minutes before the end of the quarter, the Austrian team reduced it to 57:62, when they converted two quick three-pointers in a row. The home team stopped another slump and led 72:64 after thirty minutes when Halada hit a difficult three-pointer with the horn. In the decisive passage, the visiting team was more successful, entering the final series with a streak of ten points in a row. In the 38th minute, Halada evened the score at 81:81 with a three-pointer, but the very end was already controlled by the Austrian champion, who secured advancement to the next stage of the competition with the win.

Post-game quotes:

Tihomir Bujan, coach of Olomoucko: “It was a good performance from our side, except for short lapses. The decisive one came at the beginning of the last ten minutes, when we stopped thinking about defense for a while. We didn’t even have a good start when the players were nervous. Otherwise, however, we tormented Vienna, which is not bad, because it is a very experienced team with quality players.”

Marek Welsch, player of Olomoucko:He decided the start of the match and the last quarters. Those first minutes were useless, if we had played better, we could have created a bigger lead and it would have been a different game. The passages in the final quarter are also a shame. We got a few unnecessary baskets in a short time and that decided the defeat.”

Aramis Naglić, coach of Vienna: “I am happy that we managed to win, it was our goal. We saw a balanced game. My team had a better start and finish. The opponent should be congratulated because he played a very good game and gave a quality performance.”

Jozo Rados, player of Vienna: “We wanted to confirm progress to the next stage of the competition, and we succeeded. It was a tough match, the opponent played better than in our hall. But we still won, that’s the main thing.”
