Sluneta Ustia nad Labem got their second win in this Alpe Adria Cups season. They overcame a “center-less” BC Hallmann Vienna team by 93:80.

Usti nad Labem started strong into the game. Both teams tried to score qick but the first quarter and the team from Czech Republic was making the shots with a higher percentage. BC Hallmann started then to show their shooting quality and came back with four made three-pointers, to cut the deficite to 20:27 at the first break.

In the first three Minutes of the second quarter Sluneta was the much stronger team and scored ten points in a row. In the last five minutes before the half time both theams showed great offensive gameplay which lead to a score of 39:49.

In the third quarter the game started to be a little emotional especially on the home team side. Three Minutes before the end coach Gresta got an technical foul and so he woke up his team which was at that time already 15 points behind. They managed to win the third period by two points to make it 61:69 before the final qaurter.

Usti nad Labem tried to controll the game. The team from Vienna left their hearts on the floor to come back to the game, but Usti nad Labem took advantage of their size, winning the rebound-duell 50:20 and the game 93:80.

Luigi Gresta, head coach of Vienna: “It was a hard game and we have tried to do our best. In the end the other team had a lot of size and so they won.”

Jason Detrick, player of Vienna: “I think we did ok, but that team from Sluneta had a lot of size. For us it was a good practice for the next games in championship.”

Pistecky, head coach of Sluneta: “I saw the team of Vienna before and i knew that they have a small rotation. Today we won because of our bigger rotation. I am not satisfied with our defense, but at the end the win counts.”
