MKS Dabrowa Górnicza’s Alonzo Verge is the MVP for November

Although November did not bring a large number of matches in the Alpe Adria Cup, many groups decided for whom the journey in the competition will end and who will be part of the fight for the winning trophy. Polish side MKS Dabrowa Górnicza will play in the quarter-finals, thanks in part to their playmaker Alonzo Verge, who has become MVP of the month November.

Dabrowa Górnicza did not have an easy start to the competition, entering November with a 1-2 record. However, important victories over Oberwart (89:74) and Furnir (69:62) came. These two wins meant that, in their second appearance in the AAC, the Polish will once again play in the playoffs. They can also thank Verge, in November the 24-year-old American point guard averaged 24.5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game. All this while having a efficiency of 21.

„Oh wow, I appreciate that so much, wouldn’t be able to do it without my teammates and coaches trusting me that is such a honor to be able to receive such an award,“ Verge commented on the MVP award for the month of November.

This is the first professional season for Verge in Dabrowa Górnicza and he immediately joined the team’s leaders in the MKS jersey. With an average of 23.6 points per game, he currently leads the AAC in that statistic. He is 6th in efficiency with an average of 21. On top of that, he has a solid shooting success rate – 59.3% for 2 points and 42.4% for 3 points.

Dabrowa Górnicza will finish the group stage on December 14 with a clash against Pardubice.
