Egis Körmend managed to start with a victory into this years Alpe Adria Cups edition. They overcame UBSC Raiffeisen Graz in der brandnew gym, but had to fight till the very end.

Körmend started with the first points in the game and showed a lot of energy. Therefore 5:12 was the logical standing. Afterwards UBSC could compete a bit better – the result after first quater was 24:21 for Körmend. At the beginning of the second quater UBSC could reduce the difference to only 1 point. In the upcoming situations UBSC produced three turnovers in a row – consequences were a ten-point-lead for the hungarian team two minutes to the end of the quater. But then it was Turman who shined for Graz – he reduced the standing to only four points for Körmend at halftime: 40:44.
In the second half UBSC started with a lot of energy, therefore the Graz-Team could get back into the lead with one point. But the following minutes were horrible for the Austrian side: lack of concentration, many turnovers and bad passes led to a 0:22-run for Körmend, which brought the guests a comfortable 54:67-lead before the final quarter. In the last quater could UBSC Raiffeisen Graz get closer and closer. Four minutes before the final buzzer they were back within three points. But another big number of bad passes and a horrible free throw performance decided the game for Egis Körmend. The Hungarians won 71:84.
