From the first minute the guests from the Czech Republic were more aggressive and more in the mood to play. Already in the first quarter through the American duo Carlson – Autrey they reached the lead of 23:27. In the second quarter, Vrijednosnice raised their aggression and reduced it to 30:34 by the mood of Andrija Ćorić, but then the guests made a series of 10: 2 and again raised the lead to the final 43:50 at halftime. In the third quarter Dečin rose again with aggression and with solid defense and accurate attacks went to plus 11 (57:68).
In the last quarter the hosts entered more aggressively and reduced the score to 70:73 but the much more experienced team Dečina routinely maintained the lead until the final 87:92.
Coach of Vrijednosnice Osijek – Domagoj Kujundžić: ” The well-deserved victory of the Dečin team, we were a little surprised by the game in the Czech Republic, where they played much slower, three high players did not come here. The whole game was played with five small players who were quite aggressive, in the attack they spread us slightly. Our first half was catastrophic, we only managed to make five fouls and didn’t show any desire or fight in the first half, it was too late to return later.”
Player of Vrijednosnice Osijek – Andrija Ćorić: “They played the game harder and more aggressively. It is as if in the second half we realize that we need to play harder, we have done our best, but we should give our best to the whole game. They were more motivated, came without high players probably on purpose to play faster and more kicking. We are moving on, we turn to Split and hope for victory.”
Coach of ARMEX Dečin – Tomaš Grepl: “It was tough game for us, it was clear that the Osijek is really good team. We had a problem to stop them in our home game so we try to prepare as much as possible against the offense. Today we try to slow down Bašić, in the end of the game we were little bit more lucky, so we are happy that we won the game.”
