That did not faze players from Kormano as they just kept on playing their game, and slowly they got back into it. MBK Rieker played even better in the third quarter, as they cut the lead to just eight points (43:51). The Slovaks remaind close until the end of the game, and it was a Slovenian Boban Tomic in the end, who decided the game by hitting all six of his free-throws.

Wahne Langston was the leading scorer for Kormano, as he scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. Tomic added 14 points and six assists. Igor Tratnik scored 17 points for Zlatorog.

In the finals, Komarno will face the winner of the other semifinal, between Rogaska and Helios Suns. Team from Domzale won the first game with a final score 76:68.

Aleš Pipan, coach Zlatorog: ”Congratulations to the MBK Rieker COM-therm team for making it to the finals of the Sixt Alpe Adria Cup. Their players endured all of our blows early in the game, in spite of our great effort to gain the big lead. My players played very well in the first half, but we did not take advantage of what we showed in the first 20 minutes of the game. Our lead should be bigger after the first two quarters. In the second half we did not respond well to their agressive play on the defensive end of the floor. Above all, we had too many bad passes and too many turnovers, and it is hard to win a game against the good opponent, if you have a lot of those two.”

Dino Kobić, player Zlatorog: ”We opened the game very well, but in the end that was not enough. We won the second game of the semifinals, but we did not make it to the finals of the Sixt Alpe Adria Cup.”
