MBK Rieker COM-therm Komarno are the new champions of the Sixt Alpe Adria Cup! Basketball team from Slovakia lost the second game of the finals against Helios Suns (63:67), but a win from the first match between the two opponents (97:72) was enough for Komarno to dethrone team from Domžale.

Helios Suns showed up with their game faces on in front of the home crowd in Domžale and led the entire game. Komarno became a threat in the last minutes of the game, but Tomaž Bolčina and Luka Vončina managed to keep the victory in Slovenia.

Three players scored in double figures for Komarno – Boban Tomić, Vuk Djordjević and Farad Cobb all scored 10 points. Tomić also dished out five assists and grabbed five rebound. Djordjević also pulled down five rebounds, while Cobb had five assists. For Helios Suns, Tomaž Bolčina secured a double double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Simo Atanacković and Luka Vončina scored 11 points each.

Helios Suns won the Sixt Alpe Adria Cup in the 2015/16 season, which was the first one in Cup’s history.
